Sarah Shell Teague
Sarah Shell Teague graduated summa cum laude from Ouachita University with a B.A. in English and French. She earned her M.A. at A.S.U. and her Ph. D in English at the University of Mississippi, completed postgraduate work in Creative Writing at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario, and has attended several writing workshops. Her most recently published book is Have Yourself a Hamster Little Christmas, a light, amusing book for grown-ups about how Christmas plans often get upended. The book, a collection of essays based on Teague’s and her childrens’ childhoods, uses gentle humor to encourage readers to slow down and avoid getting too stressed about holiday pleasures that transition into obligations.
A Goodreads author, Teague serves as Associate Editor of The El Dorado Insider and Arkadelphia Life. She enjoys gardening, water sports, travel (especially art-related), of course reading, and she has an affinity for antique chiming clocks. She serves on the Boys and Girls Club of El Dorado Board, Williams Baptist College Board, and is Past President of the Board of Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries. She served on Ouachita’s Development Board. She is a Service League Associate and a Protestant. A native of Walnut Ridge, Teague and her husband, Jeff, raised their three sons in El Dorado, where they have lived for 28 years.
